Unique Clixmotion Technology
Patented Clixmotion Technology for gentle blood sampling.
Clixmotion is the principle of dual-guided lancet motion, meaning that both the forward and the return motion of the lancet is precisely controlled, without vibrations and oscillations. This special motion is the key to gentle blood sampling.
The lancet penetrates the skin with an extremely fast linear motion avoiding all lateral movement and preventing unnecessary skin damage.
Clixmotion ensures controlled movement. In the skin the lancet is brought to a gentle stop, referred to as a Soft Stop, and then actively retracted immediately in a linear motion. Without Clixmotion technology, the lancet may penetrate through to the nerve ending and vibrations can cause tissue damage. This results in painful blood testing. Every Accu-Chek lancing device features patented Clixmotion technology.
Accu-Chek lancet with vibration-free forward and return motion.
With traditional lancing devices, lancet vibrations cause painful tissue damage.
Advantages of Clixmotion Technology
- Allows high-speed lancing. 2-3 milliseconds
- Minimizes skin tissue or nerve damage.
- 11 depth penetration settings for all skin types.
Adjustable Penetration Depth Setting: 11 settings, comfort dial
Penetration Range: 0.8 to 2.3 mm
Weight: 21 g
Using Softclix is easy:
Inserting the lancet
Insert a new lancet into the lancet holder and push it in until it clicks.
Remove the protective cap from the lancet with a twisting motion
Preparations for taking blood
The best place for obtaining capillary blood is from a fingertip or an earlobe. We recommend using the side of a fingertip, as this registers the least pain.
Wash hands with warn water and soap, and dry well. This helps ensure proper hygiene and stimulates blood flow.
Selecting depth of penetration with comfort dial
This significantly reduces the pain of pricking the skin, after-pain is reduced or absent altogether, and tissue scarring is minimized.
The penetration depth is set by rotating the Comfort Dial (Cap).
If you are using the Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device for the first time, set the Comfort Dial to
Press the Softclix cap onto the lancing device until it clicks. Be sure to align the notch on the cap with the centre of semi-circular cut-out on the ejector.
Check that you set the Comfort dial to the desired penetration depth.
Press the priming button until it clicks.
First check that you have set the desired penetration depth. Press in the priming button until it clicks.
Do not prime the lancing device until you are ready to take blood.
Gently press Softclix against the fingertip and press the release button.
Ejecting the used lancet
After measuring your blood glucose, pull off your Softclix cap and slide the ejector forwards to remove the lancet.
As sharpness diminishes with use, a fresh lancet is recommended every time you test. Using a sharp lancet minimizes tissue damage and callus formation, thereby promoting virtually pain-free testing.
It is also advisable to use a different fingertip each time you test because otherwise calluses may form quicker. Changing lancets is quick and convenient for you with Accu-Chek lancing devices.
Treat fingertips with care by using lancets one time only. In combination with the patented Clixmotion technology from Accu-Chek, you can be assured of especially gentle and virtually pain-free blood sampling.
Points to remember:
- Only use Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets with the Accu-Chek Lancing device since the use of other lancets may prevent or impair its proper function.
- Never immerse the lancing device in the cleaning liquid.
- Always use a new lancet each time you take blood. This practice reduces the risk of infection and keeps discomfort to a minimum.
- Do not prime the lancing device until you are ready to take blood.
- Dispose off used lancets so they cannot cause injury.
